A New Way to Volunteer!
Norwescon is excited to announce a new way for convention members to sign up to volunteer before the convention starts. Register as a volunteer online to get the most out of your Norwescon 41 experience!
Benefits of signing up prior to the convention include:
- Select your areas of interest. This helps us match you with the department you want!
- List times you're available to volunteer during the convention and choose your own shifts! You will be able to log into the volunteer site before the convention begins to see a list of available shifts in each department. You'll be able to plan your volunteering around the panels you want to attend at the convention.
- Skip the volunteer sign up line at the convention! Once you sign up for a shift, just show up at the location you're scheduled to volunteer. The team will have forms for you to track your times so you still get credit for your hours!
Get started by visiting our volunteer page to register! When you sign up, you'll notice that the calendar may not list shifts yet, as we're still in the planning phase of the convention. Please mark your area(s) of interest and we'll send you an e-mail as shifts for your department of choice become available. Can't wait until March 29? The convention welcomes volunteers throughout the year. Visit the website for upcoming ConCom meetings!
Hotel Rooms Still Available!
Now is the perfect time to secure your room for Norwescon. Plenty of rooms are still available on Thursday through Sunday at the Norwescon rate of $129. To book now, follow this link.
If you're interested in a suite, family rooms and parlor suites are also still available. For more information about how to book a suite, or about the hotel in general, check out our website.
Take Your Writing to the Next Level!
The writers' workshop at Norwescon offers feedback from writing professionals that will help you improve your science fiction, fantasy, and horror short fiction and novels. You'll find our submission guidelines here--but don't delay! Submit your manuscripts by 11:59 p.m. PST on December 3, 2017, for a place in the 2018 workshop.

Terry Brooks and Marina Warner were honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards. I'm sure you'll recognize many of the the other nominees, including Ken Liu, our Norwescon 41 Writer Guest of Honor, on the full list found here.
