Hotel Reservations are Open!

The DoubleTree by Hilton Seattle Airport has agreed to provide Norwescon members in the Norwescon room block with a flat guest room rate of $132 per night for up to four (4) people. If more than four people occupy a guest room, a daily charge of $10 per additional person will apply. Five (5) people is the maximum occupancy per room. The fee for a guaranteed tower room upgrade is $40 extra per room night (for a total cost of $172 per night).

The easiest and fastest way to reserve your room at the Norwescon rate of $132 a night is via this link.

Please remember there is a deposit of one room night charged at the time the reservation is made, which is fully refundable until February 2, 2019. For more hotel information, please see our Hotel page at http://www.norwescon.org/con/hotel/

Join Us For Pride!

Norwescon will be joining several other conventions to celebrate the diversity of our members by marching in the Seattle Pride Parade on Sunday, June 24th.

For more information, look for the PNW Non-profit Conventions and Events Pride Parade Float group on Facebook.

Are You Ready to Picnic?

The Norwescon Volunteer Appreciation Picnic is fast approaching! It will be held on Saturday, July 14th at Steel Lake Park in Federal Way, from 11 a.m. until dusk. (The same location as last year.) Bring a side dish and join us for burgers, hot dogs, and convention reminiscences. You don't need to be a past volunteer to attend, so come along even if you're a newbie or just curious! Old hands, bring your friends and we will regale them with many reasons to join our awesome group. Free parking is available.

Let's Go Camping!

The 2nd Annual Norwescon Summer Camping Event will be at Taidnapam Park on the shores of scenic Riffe Lake! The date is Friday, August 3rd and we've reserved a group site. Watch for more information here and on the website as the date approaches. There will be songs, s'mores, and shenanigans!

Locus Awards!

Come to the Locus Awards Weekend! The Locus Awards is a science fiction and fantasy literary award determined by polls of readers of Locus magazine since 1971, held on Friday, June 22nd at the Best Western Executive Inn, 200 Taylor Avenue N, Seattle, WA, 98109, directly across the street from the Seattle Center. Attending memberships are $65 and include the awards banquet and all Locus events except the Writers Workshop, plus a free six-month digital subscription to Locus. For more information, check out Locus Awards Weekend!

Host: To be determined, but a stuffed dragon will be there!
Time: Sunday, June 24th, 6pm - 8pm
Place: Third Place Books, Lake Forest Park
Book: Every Heart a Doorway, Seanan McGuire
