Write out of this World Sci-Fi and Fantasy Short Story Contest

EMP's writing contest is now accepting applications. Submissions are judged by a panel of experts including EMP curators, professional writers, and Seattle community leaders. Student winners for first, second, and third place will be awarded by grade level in the following categories: 3rd-5th, 6th-8th, and 9th-12th. Science Fiction + Fantasy Short Film Festival

A not-to-be missed annual juried festival showcasing animated and live-action science fiction, fantasy, and horror-tinged short films from around the globe.

This year, in honor of SFFSFF's tenth anniversary, EMP is excited to present new and expanded programming to the festival, including a live score to John Carpenter's classic film Escape from New York, featuring minimal-wave band Roladex, a midnight screening of "SFFSFF: The Dark Side" showing the best horror-tinged shorts, and a very special SFFSFF retrospective.

Volunteer Picnic

Yes, it's a little early to be thinking about burgers and hotdogs. This is just a little heads up so that you can mark your calendars. The volunteer picnic has been scheduled and reservations made for July 18, 2015 from 10 a.m until 3 p.m. We will be at Steel Lake Park, site 1, the same as last year. We hope to see you all there!
