EDITOR: Mike Bentley
CONTRIBUTING EDITOR: Lari Davison

SIXTEEN HOSPITALIZED?

Sixteen hospitalized at Norwescon VIII? Well, not really. Some vicious and overblown rumors have been circulating throughout the con, but we're here to give you only the facts.

Around 10:30 Friday night one attendee suffered a gastrointestinal attack due to a low white cell count. In the interest of safety, Medic One was called and the gentleman was taken to Riverton Hospital far examination.

While the medics were still on the premises, a female attending the Ice Cream Social and Stardance was accidentally kicked. She too, was ferried to Riverton.

The gentleman was ultimately released and returned to the hotel at 1:30am. The lady was discovered to have a dislocated knee and torn ligaments, sustained when she fell after being kicked. She returned at 2:30am with brace and crutches. When asked if she wished to leave for home she said "Hell, I paid good money to attend this con. I’m staying to the end.”

Two other members checked themselves in and out of the hospital for over-consumption of alcohol.

As Roseann Roseannandana would say, "It just goes to show ya, If yer white cell count is low you might as well go to the Stardance...either way you’re going to end up in the hospital."

NEW HIGH

As of 2pm today 1700 fans have registered at Norwescon VII establishing a new record.

MASQUERADE TO START AT 1O:OO!

DUNE AXES TEXAS MASSACRE

Due to popular demand, the Dune preview will be repeated at 12 midnight or after the masquarade, whichever comes first. It will be shown in the Pheenix room instead of Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

THE GOH BANQUET SUNDAY AT TEN

This Sunday breakfast brunch will feature on the menu: Scrambled eggs, Sausage, Bacon, Hash Browns, Danish, Juices, Biscuits, Fresh Fruit and Coffee & Tea & Milk.....besides the ever-popular door prizes, fun & frivolity (and let’s not forget the GOH speeches, also). The Philip K. Dick Memorial Award will also be presented. To quote a well-scrubbed cliche, If you ain’t there, you’ll be awfully square....

HOTEL WARNS OF FIRE

Hyatt hoursekeeping staff reported two incidents of burning paper in the guest rooms. Both blazes were restricted to waste containers and apparently resulted from smoldering smoking materials. The hotel requests that fans be careful with discarded matches and cigarettes.

CONTINENTAL ROOM MISPLACED

The Continental room is misprinted on the Pocket Program. The Video Studio is reallly the Continental Room. The room is in the 300 wing and is opposite the channel 8 & 10 video rooms. Continental would be room 301 if numbered. It’s well worth the search for the programming.

PARTY PATR01

All on Saturday

Petuniacon 8pm to 1am #688 ??? 9pm to.... #670

DENNY'S WANTS COSTUMED FANS

Denny’s restaurant requests con patrons to attend in costume. The source of this article did not state the reason for this, but let’s assume that anyone wanting zany fans on the premises may well be talked into giving a modest discount. You could try anyway...

ATTENTION DOCTOR WHO FANS: RARE EPISODES SCREENED TONIGHT

Hours and hours of rare, vintage Doctor Who’s will be shown right after the masquerade in room 606. Included is the very first William Hartnell episode from 1963, "An Unearthly Child,” plus a complete Patrick Troughton serial; "The Three Doctors anniversary" special with Jon Pertwee; "The Five Doctors" and lots more!

The 8:45pm Dr. Who episode on Ch. 8, "The Invisible Enemy,” will be replaced by "Time Warrior,” a Jon Pertwee episode in which Sarah Jane Smith made her first appearance.

Phantom of The Paradise will be aired on the Video Network this Saturday night at 1:25 a.m. on channel 10.

STAFF: Doug Booze, Terry Dale, Kris Demien, Larry Nicholas
